Chris joined Sovereign Land in 2009 and is responsible for deal origination and set up as well as acquisition & disposal strategies. Some 27 years of experience has exposed Chris to a wide and varied base of major public and private sector clients. In particular, the most prominent UK institutions and property development companies.
As a partner at Edward Erdman from 1982 – 1993, he was responsible for the running the Retail Department, specialising in the identification and initiation of major town centre retail development and investment projects across the UK. Major clients included Standard Life, Heron Property Corporation, AMP Asset Management (Pearl Assurance), The Grosvenor Estate, Heron Property Corporation, Land Securities, The Post Office Superannuation Fund, The Prudential and Standard Life.
In 1993, Chris was headhunted by Strutt & Parker, which he joined as a proprietary partner. For 15 years he ran its retail business - the most profitable department in the firm - building a nationwide reputation as a market leader in retail, and particularly shopping centre investment.
Chris’ particular skills are not just matching buyers with sellers, but also post-acquisition, staying with the project through to realisation by implementing agreed business plans.
Chris was selected by the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) to sit on their National ‘Young Achievers’ Committee to explore the property industry looking forward to 2010.
